Manqian Rose
Manqian Rose is a floribunda shrub variety developed by Chinese rose breeder Jiang Zhengzhi and officially released by Tianlang Roses in 2021. It won the Silver Medal at the International Rose Competition of the 2021 Yangzhou International Horticultural Expo.
Plant Characteristics: The mature plant reaches a height of 80 – 120 cm, featuring excellent upright growth and strong branching ability. It has good cold resistance, being able to withstand temperatures below -10°C for outdoor overwintering in most northern regions. With outstanding heat tolerance, it can produce standard – shaped flowers even in high temperatures of 35°C. It also has strong resistance to black spot and powdery mildew, and the thorn quantity is moderate, making it a low – maintenance variety suitable for both potting and field planting.
Flower Features: Each bloom has a diameter of 8 – 10 cm. The flowers show gradient pink hues, with deeper colors in the center and lighter outer petals. When first blooming, they present a high – centered and ruffled shape, and some flowers have delicate wavy edges. Its flower color and shape vary with seasons and temperatures—deep pink in spring and light pink in autumn. The variety is extremely floriferous, with a single branch capable of bearing 7 – 8 flower buds at the same time, and the flowers never droop.
Blooming & Fragrance Traits: It blooms repeatedly across multiple seasons, flowering continuously from spring until after the first frost. The reblooming speed is fast, with new flowers appearing about a month after pruning. Each flower can last around 7 days and remains intact even in continuous rainy weather. It emits a light and fresh fruity fragrance, which is suitable for cut flower arrangement.
